Maternity/Baby shower

On September 3rd, my family came up and put on a fun baby shower for Aaron and I. We wanted to do a co-ed get together so that all our family and some friends could celebrate with us. My sister in law, Cindy, graciously let us use her home for our party. The BBQ was a hit! We had so much fun being with both of our families and friends. Thank you to everyone who traveled up or down to be a part of it. Aaron and I really appreciated everything. Our baby girl is so lucky to be loved by so many already. I wanted to post just a few of the pictures from the BBQ because my sisters and my mom made the greatest owl decorations ever! They spent so much time on these adorable decorations that I have to share. We went with a sort of rustic owl themed BBQ using my nursery colors which are peach, grey, and some pink. Thanks to my sisters and mom for all of their help and creativity! One of my favorite parts of the showers were the orange and pink glass soda bottles that we used for drinks. Then we added spiral straws to go with them. We also made adorable owl cupcakes...! What a hoot!

Thanks to everyone for being there, and making our day special. We love you guys!

Family time

A couple of weeks ago, most of my family came out for a visit to Utah. We called it a small family reunion, and unfortunately my brother Tim and his family weren't able to make it. I  have a lot of photos to add, but I will just add a few today. Most of these pictures are of my niece and nephew. We couldn't get enough of them!

Josh and Natalie had never been to SLC or Temple Square so we headed up there and spent the whole day walking the temple grounds, and then shopping at the Gateway. We took them to the Conference Center too. It was really fun, and I think they learned a little about the LDS church.

Del Mar, California

We finally took a vacation! We had a whole week on the sandy beaches of California. Both of my sisters and their husbands drove up and met us there. We stayed in a great condo just steps from the beach. The water was really cold, but the weather was perfect. I got a great tan! Everyone else but me, got in the ocean every day and played, but I was too sissy and couldn't get in. The water was too cold for me! We went shopping downtown in San Diego and hit up Seaport Village too. There were lots of boats at the harbor and tons of great food. I didn't get a lot of pictures from this trip so I'm counting on my sisters to send me some!
We went to Carlsbad for a day and stayed on their beaches. I really wanted to go there because this is where my family spent a lot of time at in the summer growing up. I noticed though it's gotten a lot busier these days with people. We laid out in the sand and had lunch, then we packed up and went back to our beach by the condo. Jessica and I saw dolphins twice swimming around in the ocean. Thank fully no sharks! I have a deathly fear of sharks, which is also another reason I had a hard time getting in the water...Lame I know.

This is pretty much all I did every day...Loved this $15 purchase for a lounge chair

First attempt at the new boogie board. It was so fun to watch him get eaten by the waves! but in the end he got the hang of it, and he looked like a pro!

One day we all walked to the San Diego County Fair. It was a crazy place with tons of rides and good food. All the boys rode some rides, but I couldn't unfortunately. But I'm pretty sure we blew a lot of money at the place! No one even won a prize...but we did get lost trying to leave the fair that literally took us on a 3 mile trek out of the way, and then back to where we started. I was dying by the end, because I wore flip flops and I'm prego..I was sick all night afterwards and couldn't get out of bed. It was so crazy. Here are couple of fun photos.
Aaron took the lead right from the start! So funny!

This ride was making me sick just to watch it! Go Ryan and Aaron!

Thanks to my sisters and their husbands for coming to Cali with us. We hope to do it again soon! Love you guys! Next time Hawaii!!

20 weeks has come and gone!

I wanted to post a couple pictures to record myself at 20 weeks of pregnancy. We found out a few weeks ago that we are having a baby girl and we couldn't be more excited! She is already such a blessing to us, and we love her so much. We have been pretty nervous and excited about starting the trek to parenthood. I can't seem to not talk about her everyday and the changes she will bring into our home. I hope she is just like Aaron with a little bit of my attitude :) Aaron probably will not be pleased with this statement, hahaha..We have thrown around a couple of names, but I think I know what it's going to be and we are saving it until she is born. I want to make sure I still think it fits her, after we finally get to see her. She is due November 23rd! Happy Thanksgiving to us! I only have four more months to go, and I hope they continue to go smoothly.

I never had morning sickness, but I do get a lot of uncomfortable stomach aches and head aches of course..:( I still think I am pretty lucky considering some of the horror stories I have heard and that my friends have lived through..I want to take a second and document the events leading up to our pregnancy..Could be boring for everyone, but I have to type it up or I will forget everything.

Back in April of 2010, we decided to come off the pill, and start letting nature take its course, if it's meant to be. Six months went by and nothing. So I went to see a fertility doctor and get checked out. I am 30 years old at this point so you never know..Well turns out I don't ovulate on my own. I have a collection of unfertilized eggs stuck in each of my ovaries that never got released..I won't get into more details than that. So I had to take a few rounds of different hormones through a stomach injection for a few months to help my body function properly. It took four months of these things to finally get my body ovulating.. but at least it finally worked. I was really worried there might be something else wrong with me and I'd have to try In-Vitro, but I didn't, and now I'm pregnant!  I sometimes cannot believe how advanced technology is these days, and we are so blessed to have it available to us. But I know Heavenly Father was the one who gave us this baby, and we couldn't be more grateful or happier.

Buddies

Aaron- I hope you don't mind, but I had to post these pictures for the blog book, so we never forget them. We took these pictures a couple of months ago. Atlas is weighing in at over 160 pounds, and furrier than ever. We could barely tear him away from his water dish to get a few pictures. Enjoy!

Where have I been??

So it has been at least six months since I have posted anything on my blog...I feel like a total loser, haha. The problem is we never take any photos!!Hopefully soon that will all change. Summer is finally (here most of the time)and we really need to be getting out more.
Next week we are going on a vacation to Del Mar,CA, and we can't wait! We got a condo on the beach with my sisters and their hubbies. Aaron and I desperately need this vacation with everything in our lives about to change, we thought we deserved one last break.
After this trip, on Labor day all of my family is coming to Utah! We have never gathered together in Utah, so I hope everyone has a good time here. I'll get to see my nieces and nephews from Tucson and New Mexico!! We are so excited.
After that trip we will just be waiting for our little one to arrive. This experience has been a blast and Aaron is so supportive and caring towards all my little complaints. We are throwing around lots of ideas for the nursery and names too. We probably won't decide on one until the day of, but that's ok with us.
Next time I post, I will be sure to put up some new pictures of everything. Thanks to all those who follow this lame blogger... :)
